ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The information technology industry in Pakistan has urged the government to allocate substantial funds in the upcoming budget for the development of IT parks nationwide.
IT expert and entrepreneur Faizan Aslam highlighted the need for greater investment in IT infrastructure. “Pakistan is the fifth most populous country, yet it lags behind Vietnam in terms of IT parks. The government must allocate funds for the development of these parks in the budget,” he said.
Need for a Supportive Environment
Aslam emphasized that alongside funding, the government should create a favourable environment for IT companies by reducing taxes and providing additional support. “Through IT exports, Pakistan can achieve considerable economic growth,” he added.
He further urged policymakers to prioritise the IT sector and implement incentives that encourage investment and growth. “IT companies in Pakistan should be given incentives and support to grow and succeed,” Aslam remarked.
