ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is preparing to launch a forceful protest campaign against the federal government’s upcoming budget, with strategies being developed for both parliamentary opposition and public demonstrations.
Strategy Session Scheduled
According to party insiders, PTI leadership has summoned a high-level strategy meeting today at 3 PM to finalize the protest roadmap. Senior party figures have been directed to attend, where detailed plans for opposing the budget in the National Assembly and through public mobilization will be discussed.
Leadership Criticizes Budget Direction
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed strong disapproval of the government’s fiscal policy. “We will register a strong protest against the budget. The government has failed to introduce any meaningful reforms,” he said.
He added, “There are no visible steps to improve the economy. This budget lacks direction and seriousness.”
Public Accounts Committee Chairman Weighs In
Public Accounts Committee Chairman Junaid Akbar confirmed the party’s internal discussions. “A concrete action plan will be formed in today’s session. There’s little hope for anything positive from the current budget,” he stated.
The move signals PTI’s intent to mount serious resistance to what it views as an ineffective and poorly constructed financial plan by the current administration.
