ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The International Cricket Council (ICC) honoured seven of the sport’s greatest figures with induction into its prestigious Hall of Fame during a ceremony held at Abbey Road Studios on Monday.
2025 Hall of Fame Inductees
The new class comprises five male and two female cricketers, recognized for their exceptional contributions to cricket worldwide:
MS Dhoni (India)
Hashim Amla (South Africa)
Graeme Smith (South Africa)
Matthew Hayden (Australia)
Daniel Vettori (New Zealand)
Sana Mir (Pakistan)
Sarah Taylor (England)
Each inductee was presented with a commemorative cap by ICC Chairman Jay Shah, who highlighted their enduring influence on the game.
“Through the Hall of Fame, we honour players whose extraordinary careers have left a permanent mark on the game and inspired millions,” Shah said. “It’s a privilege to welcome these seven outstanding individuals into this elite group.”
Selection Process and Event Highlights
The 2025 inductees were selected by a panel including former Hall of Famers, senior ICC officials, and respected media experts. The event, named A Day with the Legends, also served as a prelude to the ICC World Test Championship final, set to take place at Lord’s on June 11.
Both finalists’ captains—South Africa’s Temba Bavuma and Australia’s Pat Cummins—attended the ceremony, underscoring the gathering’s significance in cricket’s calendar.
