ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led Sindh government will present its provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 in the Sindh Assembly today (Friday), with an estimated outlay exceeding Rs 3,400 billion.
Salary Increases and Wage Reforms Proposed
According to official sources, the budget is expected to propose a 10% to 20% increase in salaries for provincial government employees. A raise in the minimum wage for laborers by Rs 5,000 is also under consideration as part of broader economic relief measures.
The package may include salary hikes for members of the Sindh Assembly as well.
Development Focus: Over 480 New Schemes Expected
The upcoming budget is likely to include 481 new development schemes aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public services across the province. These initiatives are part of the government’s push for sustained economic growth and improved service delivery.
KP Budget Also Being Presented Today
In a parallel development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is scheduled to unveil its own budget for FY 2025–26 today. The KP budget has a proposed total volume of Rs 2,070 billion, including Rs 114 billion earmarked for development projects.
