ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman is scheduled to present the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 in the Punjab Assembly today. The budget will outline key priorities aligned with the developmental vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
No New Taxes, Focus on Efficiency
Speaking ahead of the budget presentation, the finance minister confirmed that no new taxes would be introduced in the upcoming financial year. Instead, the provincial government will focus on enhancing the efficiency of existing tax collection mechanisms.
“The budget has something in store for everyone,” Rehman said. “From women and children to persons with disabilities and laborers — every segment of society will be protected.”
Development, Equity, and Economic Growth at Core

Key sectors such as education, healthcare, and social welfare will continue to receive robust support. Successful initiatives launched under the current administration will move forward at full pace.
Support for SMEs and Farmers
Special measures are anticipated for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including technical and financial assistance. Additionally, the government plans to expand and strengthen the Kisan Card program to improve services for the farming community.
People-Centric Approach
