ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic has no intention of pursuing nuclear weapons, stating that Iran’s military doctrine does not include aggression or regional domination.
Pezeshkian Calls for Patience, Denies Nuclear Ambitions
In a national address delivered amid ongoing regional conflict, President Pezeshkian urged the Iranian people to remain calm and resilient.
“We urge our people to remain patient during this crisis,” he stated. “We do not seek dominance over anyone and are not an aggressive nation.”
The president reiterated that acquiring nuclear arms is not part of Iran’s strategic objectives, distancing the country from accusations of nuclear proliferation.
Accusations Against Israel and the U.S.
Pezeshkian accused Israel of deliberately destabilizing Muslim nations through military aggression.
“Israel is attacking Muslim states one by one,” he said, further claiming that the United States is complicit in these actions. “By allowing Israeli attacks, the U.S. is engaging in bullying,” the president added.
His remarks reflect deepening hostilities between Iran and Israel, further exacerbated by a recent escalation in direct confrontations.
Missile Strike on Israel Leaves Five Dead
According to foreign media reports, Iran’s latest missile strike on Israel—described as the largest of its kind to date—has resulted in the deaths of five people. The attack has significantly heightened fears of a broader conflict in the Middle East.
In response to the threat, Israeli authorities have instructed citizens to stay inside shelters throughout the day. The U.S. Ambassador to Israel confirmed, “We are taking refuge in shelters today,” and announced that the U.S. embassy in Israel would remain closed until further notice.
Rising Regional Volatility
The recent wave of military activity has underscored rising tensions across the region, with international observers closely monitoring the situation for signs of escalation or diplomatic intervention.
President Pezeshkian’s assurances on Iran’s nuclear stance appear aimed at countering growing international scrutiny, especially amid heightened rhetoric and active hostilities involving multiple state actors.
