ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Joel Amir Sahotra, Former Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Parliamentary Leader of Minorities in the Pakistan Muslim League (N), has extended warm congratulations to the people and government of Portugal on the occasion of their National Day. He also conveyed his best wishes to H.E. Frederico Silva, the Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan.
In his message, Mr. Sahotra praised Portugal for its enduring commitment to democratic values, diversity, and peaceful coexistence. “As a representative of Pakistan’s minority communities, I deeply admire Portugal’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity, human rights, and interfaith harmony,” he stated.
He added that in today’s world—often divided by differences in faith, culture, and identity—Portugal stands as a symbol of unity in diversity, setting an example for the global community. “Portugal’s values offer hope and inspiration to all who believe in tolerance and mutual respect,” he noted.
Mr. Sahotra expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of ties between Pakistan and Portugal, especially in areas of cultural cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, and dialogue on shared values.
