ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched a multi-phase skills development camp at the LCCA Ground in Lahore, with top national players including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan participating in the first phase aimed at enhancing fitness, fielding, and technical skills.
Three-Phase Training to Boost Performance
Organized under the guidance of National Cricket Academy (NCA) coaches, the camp kicked off Monday morning and is part of PCB’s broader effort to elevate the performance and preparedness of national-level cricketers ahead of domestic and international competitions.
According to a PCB spokesperson, the camp will be held in three phases, with the initial batch comprising 15 players. Each session is structured to include rigorous fielding drills, batting refinement, and physical conditioning exercises.
Day One: Focus on Fielding and Fitness
Monday’s session began with fielding exercises where both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were actively engaged. Batting coach Hanif Malik, in collaboration with NCA staff, conducted technical batting sessions, focusing on shot selection and technique improvement. Players also took part in gym workouts aimed at building core strength and endurance.
“The purpose of the camp is to improve individual skill sets and ensure players remain physically and mentally ready for the demands of upcoming cricketing assignments,” said the PCB spokesperson.

PCB officials stated the initiative aligns with its long-term strategy to strengthen the national talent pipeline by maintaining year-round focus on skills development and athlete fitness management.
