ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a significant allocation of funds for 2,159 development projects in the upcoming fiscal year 2025–26, including 810 new initiatives aimed at boosting infrastructure and public services across the province.
Road Infrastructure Sector Receives Highest Funding
According to the provincial finance department, the road infrastructure sector leads with 221 new projects — the largest number among all sectors. The health department follows with 93 new schemes, while water supply and municipal services are set to benefit from 69 and 60 new projects, respectively.
Additional sectors slated for development include education and forestry with 29 new projects each, agriculture with 18, and industry with 22.
Financial Overview and Impact
The estimated cost for the new projects totals Rs. 88.13 billion. Alongside 1,349 ongoing schemes, these efforts are expected to enhance regional infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and improve service delivery throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The provincial government emphasizes that these initiatives align with its commitment to sustainable development and socio-economic progress for the region’s residents.
