ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will lead Pakistan’s delegation at the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), scheduled to be held in Türkiye on June 21–22, 2025.
Pakistan’s Voice on Key Regional and Global Issues
During the plenary session, Ishaq Dar will present Pakistan’s stance on recent developments in South Asia, particularly in the aftermath of the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India. He will also address the evolving situation in the Middle East, highlighting Israel’s recent military actions targeting Iran and neighboring countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s enduring support for the Palestinian cause and underscore the need for sustainable peace in the region. He will call for immediate humanitarian assistance for Gaza and emphasize the importance of collective international efforts to de-escalate tensions.
Focus on Islamophobia, Climate, and Terrorism
Dar’s address will include a call to counter rising Islamophobia, which he will frame as a growing global threat. He will also advocate for enhanced international cooperation to confront climate change, violent extremism, and terrorism—issues that continue to challenge the Muslim world.
He is set to highlight Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to the core objectives and principles of the OIC, and its dedication to promoting unity and development within the Muslim Ummah.
Diplomatic Engagements and Recognition Ceremony
In addition to his participation in the formal proceedings, the Deputy Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of other OIC member states to strengthen diplomatic ties and discuss shared concerns.
Ahead of the main session, Ishaq Dar will attend an award ceremony honoring Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who will receive the “OIC Youth Forum Grand Youth Award” in recognition of his leadership.
