ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Iranian officials have confirmed that Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is alive, countering widespread reports that he was killed during recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran.
Official Statement Refutes Death Claims
State media in Iran released a statement verifying Shamkhani’s survival after several regional and international outlets erroneously reported his death. The confusion followed a series of Israeli airstrikes that targeted key strategic locations across Iran, igniting a flurry of speculation on social media and news platforms.
“I am alive and ready to sacrifice my life for Iran,”
Shamkhani declared in a public message, addressing the false reports directly.
According to Iranian sources, Shamkhani sustained injuries during the attacks but has since recovered and is in stable condition.
Heavy Toll from Israeli Strikes
While Shamkhani’s survival has been confirmed, Iranian officials report that the Israeli assault has led to the deaths of more than 250 individuals. Among the casualties are several senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, further escalating tensions between the two countries.
Misinformation in the Fog of Conflict
Shamkhani’s confirmation helps dispel growing misinformation surrounding the Israeli-Iran conflict. In recent weeks, both nations have intensified military posturing, with conflicting narratives emerging amid real-time developments.
The Iranian government emphasized the importance of verifying information through official channels, especially during times of heightened geopolitical unrest.
