ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Qatar and several Gulf nations have reopened their airspace after a temporary closure prompted by Iranian missile strikes targeting the U.S.-operated Al Udeid Air Base. Officials now report that the situation is fully stable, and normal operations have resumed across the region.
Qatar Declares Situation “Completely Stable”
In a press briefing late Monday night, Qatar’s Interior Ministry spokesperson Jabr al-Naimi stated, *“The safety of citizens and residents remains the utmost priority,”* assuring the public that all relevant agencies are working in coordination to preserve public security. He urged the public not to engage with unverified information, warning against spreading non-official reports.
“We will not allow any international or external crisis or conflict to affect our life in Qatar,” he said, as authorities emphasized efforts to maintain normalcy.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry echoed these remarks, confirming that daily life was returning to normal and reiterating the country’s call for all parties involved to pursue diplomatic dialogue.
Airspace Reopenings Across the Region
In addition to Qatar, civil aviation authorities in *Kuwait and Bahrain* also reopened their airspace following temporary suspensions. The *U.S. Embassy in Doha* lifted its shelter-in-place advisory and announced it would resume operations on Tuesday.
In the *United Arab Emirates, the Dubai Media Office confirmed that **Dubai International Airport* had resumed flight operations, though some delays and cancellations remain due to earlier disruptions.
Meanwhile, *Oman Air* announced a temporary suspension of flights to several Gulf destinations, including Manama, Dubai, Kuwait, and Doha, citing precautionary measures. The airline warned of potential delays across its wider network due to rerouted flight paths.
Trump’s Response and Call for Peace
U.S. President *Donald Trump* addressed the situation on Truth Social, downplaying the impact of the Iranian missile barrage. He said that *“NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done,”* attributing the outcome to Iran’s early warning, which enabled timely safety measures.
*“Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same,”* Trump added, highlighting his administration’s support for de-escalation.
Iran had launched 14 missiles aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military facility in the Middle East, which also houses Qatari and allied forces. According to Trump, all missiles were either intercepted or diverted, resulting in no casualties.
Temporary Closure Was Precautionary
Qatar initially shut its airspace as a preventive measure in response to escalating regional tensions. A government source told local media, *“This is a temporary measure aimed at ensuring public safety amid ongoing regional developments.”* The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the move was particularly intended to safeguard residents and international pilgrims transiting through the country.
: With tensions gradually easing in the Gulf following Iran’s missile retaliation, Qatar and neighboring states have resumed normal airspace operations. Officials across the region are emphasizing stability and urging the public to remain calm, while international leaders, including President Trump, are calling for peace and restraint.
