ISLAMABAD (PEN) : At least 627 people have been killed in Iran amid ongoing hostilities with Israel, according to updated figures released by Iran’s Ministry of Health.
The spokesperson for the ministry, Hossein Kermanpour, shared the latest casualty numbers on social media platform X, confirming that 4,870 others have been injured* in the strikes allegedly carried out by Israeli forces on Iranian soil.
Tehran Suffers Highest Casualties
Kermanpour noted that *Tehran reported the highest death toll, followed by **Kermanshah, with additional fatalities in **Khuzestan, Lorestan, and Isfahan. The health ministry revealed that **86.1% of victims* died at the scene of the attacks, while *13.9% succumbed to their injuries* after being transported to hospitals.
“I pass no judgement,” Kermanpour wrote. “I do not describe the painful scenes of injured children, mothers and civilians arriving — I leave that to the conscience of humanity.”
