ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The White House has reiterated President Donald Trump’s commitment to ending the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with senior officials emphasizing diplomatic efforts, humanitarian assistance, and legislative priorities in recent briefings.
White House Reaffirms Support for Gaza Peace Efforts
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that President Trump is “working tirelessly” to bring the Gaza war to a close and secure the release of hostages held by Hamas. She credited recent humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza to Trump’s diplomatic engagement.
“We are working tirelessly to end the war in Gaza and recover all the hostages. Aid has reached Gaza because of President Trump’s proactive diplomacy,” Leavitt said.
She confirmed that the administration remains in active coordination with Israeli leadership to facilitate a peaceful resolution and continued humanitarian relief.
“President Trump wants a swift and peaceful resolution to the conflict. He remains directly engaged,” she added.
Criticism of Political Opponents
Leavitt also addressed domestic political concerns, targeting New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, whom she accused of aligning with Hamas.
“If Zohran Mamdani is elected, it will be extremely difficult to work with him given his stance,” she remarked.
She further criticized Democratic lawmakers for their opposition to the administration’s tax and anti-corruption policies.
“The revolution President Trump has led focuses on tax cuts and border security. Democrats have consistently stood against our mission to eliminate corruption,” she said.
State Department Emphasizes Diplomatic Priorities
In a separate briefing, State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce reinforced the administration’s commitment to a ceasefire and humanitarian access in Gaza.
“Our efforts are focused on easing the hardships of the people of Gaza. We’re actively working to deliver aid and establish a lasting ceasefire,” Bruce noted.
She also addressed recent visa cancellations of British artists, citing national security as the driving factor.
“It is our policy to cancel visas in the national interest. Every country has the right to protect its citizens,” Bruce stated. “Anyone entering the US must respect the people who live here.”
Shifts in Regional Policy: Iran and Syria
Bruce confirmed a recalibration of U.S. foreign policy toward Syria, announcing a phased lifting of sanctions. She also emphasized that the administration holds Hamas responsible for the situation in Gaza.
“We are lifting sanctions in a phased manner. Hamas is responsible for the situation in Gaza, and we are committed to making every effort for a ceasefire,” she said.
She also underscored the administration’s strong stance on Iran as a signal of continued U.S. influence in the Middle East.
“Our attitude toward Iran shows that the United States remains a key player,” Bruce said.
Legislative Focus and Political Allies
Leavitt revealed that President Trump is engaged with Congress to push forward new tax reforms aimed at stimulating economic growth. Meanwhile, Bruce praised Senator Marco Rubio’s diplomatic role in supporting the administration’s global peace initiatives.
“Senator Rubio is working on President Trump’s instructions to help establish peace worldwide,” she affirmed.
