ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Over the weekend, social media buzzed with rumors claiming that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir had secretly gotten engaged after a video showing a traditional engagement ceremony went viral.
The clip, widely shared on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), featured a young woman dressed in a printed outfit with floral gajras, receiving congratulatory bouquets in an intimate setting. Many fans quickly assumed the woman was the star of Mere Humsafar, leading to excitement about the possible engagement news.
However, attentive viewers soon clarified that the woman in the video was actually social media influencer and blogger Bushra Memon, who bears a striking resemblance to Hania Aamir. Memon herself posted the video, confirming that the man beside her was her fiancé, Omar Hussain.
The confusion arose from Memon’s hairstyle, outfit, and mannerisms, which closely matched Aamir’s well-known public image. Fans of both women flooded the comments section with amused reactions upon learning the truth.
Hania Aamir’s Rising Stardom
Hania Aamir first appeared on the big screen with the film Janaan and has since become a household name in Pakistan. Her role in the 2021 drama Mere Humsafar solidified her popularity, while her 2024 project Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was among her most successful works to date.
Her fame has extended beyond Pakistan, notably gaining recognition in India. This cross-border appeal led to her casting alongside Indian Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming film Sardaarji 3. Despite political tensions affecting the film’s release, Dosanjh remained firm on including Aamir, underscoring her growing influence in the industry.
