ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan’s embassy in the United Arab Emirates organized the “Pakistani Mango Festival 2025” in Abu Dhabi to showcase the country’s renowned mango varieties and promote exports across the Gulf region.
Held on Sunday at Le Royal Meridien Hotel in collaboration with the Overseas Pakistani Foundation, the event attracted a diverse audience including Emirati officials, diplomats, business leaders, and members of the Pakistani expatriate community, according to an official embassy statement.
As the world’s fourth-largest mango producer, Pakistan generates around 1.8 million tons annually, with exports exceeding 125,000 tons in 2023 and revenue nearing $100 million, data from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) reveals. Approximately 75% of these exports are destined for Gulf countries.
“Festivals like the Mango Festival not only celebrate our agricultural excellence but also build bridges of understanding and friendship between the people of Pakistan and the UAE,” said Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi.
The festival featured popular mango varieties including Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, and Langra, offering attendees a firsthand experience of Pakistan’s rich agricultural heritage.
The UAE, home to over 1.7 million Pakistanis, remains a vital market and transit hub for Pakistani agricultural goods to the Middle East. Mango season in Pakistan runs from May through September, with export activity peaking between June and August.
