ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The search and rescue operation in Swat River has entered its sixth consecutive day as teams persist in efforts to locate the remaining missing person, officials confirmed Tuesday.
Rescue personnel, aided by the district administration and civil defense, are conducting systematic searches along the river stretch from Kanju Bridge to Barikot. The operation utilizes divers, rescue boats, and advanced search technology in its ongoing efforts.
Authorities have pledged to continue the operation until the body of Abdullah, a young man from Daska still unaccounted for, is recovered. To date, rescuers have retrieved 12 bodies linked to the tragic incident.
Anti-Encroachment Drive Temporarily Halted
Meanwhile, a parallel anti-encroachment campaign in the area has been temporarily suspended. Officials recently released a list identifying 38 illegal structures located in the Fiza Gat locality, flagged by the Irrigation Department.
The authorities have indicated that the encroachment issue may involve individuals with political connections, prompting further scrutiny.
The district administration has yet to announce when the anti-encroachment activities will resume.
