ISLAMABAD (PEN) : At the inauguration of the CICA headquarters in Astana, President *Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev* outlined his administration’s ambitious plans to bolster infrastructure and advance the nation’s digital capabilities.
Major Infrastructure Overhaul
President Tokayev emphasised Kazakhstan’s work with international partners to modernize key transport and logistics systems.
“Kazakhstan together with international partners is actively modernizing railroads, roads, sea ports, transit and logistics.”
Digital Innovation & AI
Digital transformation was underscored as a vital pillar of national competitiveness.
“We seek to make Kazakhstan a digital country, where artificial intelligence serves as a key driver of growth, innovation and digital sovereignty.”
> To that end, the government has established the Artificial Intelligence Development Council and is deploying a state-of-the-art supercomputer.
Agricultural Advancements & Sustainability
Tokayev also spotlighted modernization in agriculture as critical for diversifying the economy and ensuring food security.
“We’re pursuing a sustainable economy with full integration into global value-added chains and to meet climate and sustainable development goals.”
International Collaboration & CICA Relations
He reaffirmed the importance of global partnership and praised diplomatic efforts, saying:
“To achieve these long-term goals, we’re committed to close cooperation with our international partners.”
The president also extended gratitude to Azerbaijan for its leadership within CICA, calling the new Astana headquarters “a pivotal and historic moment,” and wished success to all member states.
