ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has officially introduced an e-filing system in all its registries, enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of legal proceedings nationwide.
E-Filing Now Active in Major Registries
The digital platform is operational at the SCP’s principal seat in Islamabad, as well as its regional registries in Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta. Under this system, petitions, memos, judgments, and orders will be accessible online, streamlining case management and promoting transparency.
Litigants will receive updates via email, ensuring timely communication throughout the legal process. The e-filing initiative aims to reduce paper consumption, lower costs, and expedite case handling.
Mandatory Registration and Support Measures
Lawyers are required to register for the e-filing system. The Supreme Court has requested Bar Councils to submit lawyers’ mobile numbers and email addresses to facilitate registration and communication.
Government departments have been instructed to appoint focal persons responsible for assisting with the e-filing procedures within their offices. Additionally, a dedicated contact number has been provided to raise awareness and support users encountering issues with the new system.
