ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan’s security forces have successfully thwarted two infiltration attempts by Indian-backed Khawarij militants along the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, killing 30 terrorists during swift operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Friday.
Infiltration Attempts Foiled in North Waziristan
On the nights of July 1-2 and July 2-3, security personnel detected large groups of militants belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khawarij moving in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan. Security forces promptly engaged the intruders, neutralizing all 30 militants involved in the attempted infiltration.
A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the site of the operations. The ISPR praised the professionalism and vigilance of the forces for preventing a potential large-scale attack.
Calls for Afghan Cooperation
The military spokesperson urged the Afghan government to prevent the use of its territory by foreign proxies targeting Pakistan. The ISPR reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to defending the country and eradicating terrorism sponsored by foreign entities.
Leadership Praises Security Forces
*President Asif Ali Zardari* lauded the bravery and professionalism of the security forces. He called the elimination of Indian-sponsored terrorists a vital step towards national security. “These operations against Indian-sponsored terrorists are commendable and will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country,” President Zardari stated, reaffirming Pakistan’s firm resolve to defend its sovereignty.
*Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif* paid tribute to the armed forces, describing them as an “unbreakable wall” defending the nation. He emphasized the unity of the government and people in their determination to eliminate terrorism. “The entire nation salutes the security forces for their unwavering commitment, tireless efforts, and sacrifices,” he said.
*Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi* also praised the forces for their decisive action in killing 30 terrorists and thwarting the infiltration attempt. “The terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan met a humiliating and exemplary death,” Naqvi remarked. He vowed that those supporting these terrorists would not be spared and expressed deep appreciation for the professionalism of the security forces.
