ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The 4th meeting of the CPEC Joint Working Group on International Cooperation and Coordination (JWG-ICC) took place in Islamabad, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi and China’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sun Weidong. Both nations emphasized their commitment to fostering international cooperation, particularly regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). They acknowledged progress since the previous meeting in July 2022, highlighting CPEC’s role in enhancing global and regional connectivity. Stressing their strategic partnership, they welcomed third-party cooperation and rejected misinformation on CPEC. The focus was on advancing industry, agriculture, IT, and science while ensuring socio-economic benefits. The meeting supported media and think tank cooperation, aiming to counter false narratives and build an intellectual knowledge pool on CPEC and the Belt and Road Initiative.
