ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Renewed progress is observed in several projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it transitions into its next phase. The Karot hydropower project, generating 3.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in 2023, exemplifies this advancement. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, outlined plans for the upcoming phase, focusing on connectivity, industrialization, and agriculture. Key initiatives such as optimizing the ML-1 railway project and realigning the Karakoram Highway are anticipated to see tangible advancements, with heightened efforts to ensure the security of Chinese personnel and projects emphasized.
