ISLAMABAD (PEN) : China is willing to work with Vietnam to create new growth points for cooperation, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, properly handle differences, and consolidate the public opinion and social foundation for the friendship between the two countries, Wang Yi, co-chair of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, said on Monday.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, also co-chair of the committee, in Beijing.
Wang said the two countries agreed to build a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance last December, which has opened up new prospects for the development of China-Vietnam relations and will push the two countries’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new level.
China is willing to work with Vietnam to give full play to the coordinating role of the the steering committee for bilateral cooperation and deepen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, connectivity, technology and innovation to promote the development the China-Vietnam community with a shared future, said Wang.
For his part, Tran Luu Quang said Vietnam stands ready to work with China to expand communication, enhance mutual understanding and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Tran Luu Quang is accompanying Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue, who is on a visit to China from April 7 to 12.
