ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Tragedy struck in Bhagodial – an area of Sheikhupura’s Tehsil Muridke – as a young bride fell victim to a heinous crime allegedly perpetrated by her in-laws over a dowry dispute.
Nazia, a newlywed bride, met a tragic end at the hands of her kinfolk, purportedly for failing to fulfil their demand for a car as part of the dowry.
The grim details emerged as the FIR filed by the deceased’s family implicated five individuals, including her husband, Shoaib, in the chilling murder case.
According to the account outlined in the FIR, Nazia’s ordeal began five months ago when she tied the knot with Shoaib, a resident of Bhagdial. However, the bliss of matrimony soon turned into a nightmare as Nazia found herself embroiled in a relentless demand for a car from her in-laws.
In a desperate ultimatum, Nazia was allegedly coerced by her father and brothers to procure a car promptly, with the ominous threat of divorce looming overhead should she fail to comply.
Tragically, her refusal to succumb to the unjust demand led to her untimely demise, leaving a community reeling in shock and disbelief.
Upon receiving distressing reports of the incident, local law enforcement swiftly mobilized to the scene, where they discovered Nazia’s lifeless body.
The authorities promptly took custody of the remains and transferred them to the THQ Hospital Mortuary for further investigation, as they launched an intensive manhunt to apprehend the accused individuals.
