ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Chinese Consul General HE Zhao Shiren announced the imminent start of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aimed at bringing regional prosperity. Speaking at a national conference on 73 years of Pak-China diplomatic relations, organized by Punjab University, he emphasized China’s continued support for Pakistan in defense and national security, and expressed hope for Pakistan’s future permanent membership in the UN Security Council. He highlighted ongoing cooperation in mining, IT, energy, and other sectors, and noted the historical recognition of China by Pakistan in 1951, fostering a lasting relationship of trust. He affirmed continued cooperation with the Punjab government in educational, economic, and cultural relations.
