ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS) Lahore hosted Zhao Shiren, Consul General of China, for a guest lecture titled “China’s Growing Influence in Global and Regional Politics: Benefits for Pakistan” on June 13, 2024. Introduced by Mr. Ameer Abdullah Khan, Senior Researcher at CASS, Zhao highlighted global peace, multipolarity, and China’s initiatives under President Xi Jinping, such as the BRI and the Global Development Initiative. He praised the strong Pakistan-China partnership, noting significant trade and investment growth under CPEC, and emphasized embracing global, green, and digital initiatives for Pakistan’s future growth. The session, followed by an interactive Q&A, concluded with remarks from Air Marshal Asim Suleiman (Retd), who stressed the importance of the Pakistan-China partnership for economic development, industrialization, agriculture modernization, and technological cooperation. The event underscored the strategic alliance between the two nations in navigating global and regional complexities.
