ISLAMABAD (PEN) : A team from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has completed a seven-day assessment of safety measures implemented by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).
The scheduled ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) occurred from June 5 to 12, as stated in a PCAA announcement issued on Thursday.
During their visit, the team extensively evaluated corrective actions taken by the PCAA and visited the Pakistan International Airlines engineering and flight safety department, according to a senior official.
The four-member team also appraised the implementation of ICAO’s safety standards, aircraft airworthiness, operational procedures, and engineering capabilities.
A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) stated that the team arrived in Karachi on schedule to thoroughly assess the corrective measures implemented by the PCAA following the last ICAO audit in December 2021.
Saif Anjum, Secretary of the Aviation Division, and Nadir Shafi Dar, Deputy Director-General of the CAA, accompanied the team during their visit.
On June 12, a closing meeting was held, attended by the PCAA Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and other officials. During this meeting, the mission presented its initial findings, with a detailed report expected to follow in the future.
