ISLAMABAD (PEN) :The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot and humid weather for Karachi over the next 24 hours, with a possibility of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms expected in the evening or night.
Currently, the PMD recorded the lowest temperature in Karachi at 30.5°C, with daytime temperatures expected to reach between 36°C and 38°C. Humidity levels are notably high at 75%.
Looking ahead, the PMD’s three-day forecast indicates a continuation of hot and humid conditions in Karachi. Temperatures are projected to rise further, reaching 37°C to 39°C on Sunday, with potential rain showers in the evening or night. Monday may see temperatures touching around 40°C.
In other parts of Sindh, including Jacobabad, Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Thatta, light rain is anticipated by tonight.
Recent light showers in various areas of Karachi on Friday provided relief from the preceding high temperatures, signaling a break in the dry spell before the monsoon season. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has indicated that more rain or drizzle is likely in suburban areas of Karachi on June 22 or 23, with a possibility of above-normal rainfall in Sindh, including Karachi.
The onset of the monsoon is expected later, around July 5 or 6 for Sindh, and from June 29 or 30 for Punjab and Kashmir, according to the meteorological predictions.
