ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi indicated that Babar Azam’s future as captain will be decided by former cricketers, though he didn’t specify who they would be. Addressing reporters in Lahore, Naqvi, who also serves as the country’s interior minister, clarified that no decision has been made regarding Babar Azam’s captaincy.
The Pakistani team has faced significant criticism following their exit from the T20 World Cup, particularly after failing to advance beyond the Super Eight stage. This disappointment included losses to debutants like the United States and a near-win against India, as well as hard-fought victories over weaker teams like Ireland and Canada.
Naqvi emphasized caution in decision-making, advising against making decisions in anger, as such hasty actions can often be detrimental.
