ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Police have apprehended a suspect involved in the recent acid attack on women traveling in a rickshaw in Peshawar,.
According to the CCPO Peshawar, a case has been filed against the suspect at Town police station. The arrested individual, taken into custody from Karkhano Market, was an associate of the victim woman’s ex-husband, as per police sources.
Police have recovered the motorcycle used in the acid attack from the suspect. Efforts are underway to arrest another accomplice involved in the assault.
The incident occurred on Abdara Road in Peshawar, where unidentified assailants on motorcycles chased a rickshaw and threw acid on its passengers, injuring multiple individuals. CCTV footage captured the attackers wearing masks, who fled the scene following the assault.
An FIR has been registered against the attackers, detailing injuries sustained by four victims, including a 28-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl.
The victim woman alleged that her former husband had been issuing threats against her life and was responsible for orchestrating the acid attack.
