ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In a heart-wrenching incident, three brave police officers were martyred in a dacoit attack on a check post in the Bhong Bachao Bandh area of Sadiqabad.
According to a police spokesperson, the tragedy unfolded when dozens of armed dacoits launched a ruthless assault on the police post, resulting in the deaths of officers Jahangir, Imtiaz, and Tariq. In response, the police have initiated a pursuit to capture the fleeing attackers in the Katcha area. During the intense exchange of gunfire, one of the dacoits was killed, and weapons were recovered from the scene. The fallen dacoit was reportedly involved in numerous heinous crimes, including dacoity and assaults on law enforcement.
This incident follows a recent deadly encounter where four dacoits were killed and four others were injured.
Earlier, another shocking attack claimed the lives of two police officers at a check post in Ghotki. Robbers targeted checkpoint 46 at the Andal Sandrani Protective Wall, leading to the martyrdom of officers Abdul Qadir Mehr and Zaheer Teheem. SSP Sameer Noor stated that the police responded swiftly to the rocket attack by the dacoits, calling in a heavy contingent of reinforcements.
In yet another troubling episode on April 6, a group of dacoits attacked a police picket in Khairpur, stripping officers of their valuables, including weapons, cash, and motorcycles. The dacoits assaulted a police picket near Pir Jo Goth in Sindh’s Khairpur district, taking the officers hostage and torturing one of them for resisting. After being alerted to the attack, SHO Pir Jo Goth dispatched a police contingent to arrest the dacoits.
These repeated assaults on law enforcement highlight the bravery and sacrifices of the police officers in the face of ruthless criminal elements.
