ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken Zahoor Ahmed, the former general manager of the Pakistan Agricultural Storage & Services Corporation (PASSCO), into custody over a corruption case linked to wheat procurement.
The FIA spokesperson disclosed that Zahoor Ahmed was arrested for allegedly manipulating PASSCO’s wheat procurement policy set by the Managing Director (MD). This manipulation involved a shift from directly purchasing wheat from farmers to buying it through middlemen. To implement this change, Zahoor Ahmed issued a policy letter to district officers, misusing the MD’s signature.
A case has been filed against Zahoor Ahmed, and the former PASSCO MD is also slated to be part of the ongoing investigation, the spokesperson noted.
