ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In a notable boost for the automotive industry, car sales in Pakistan soared by 58.21% in July 2024 compared to the same month last year, according to recent data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
During this first month of the financial year 2024-25, 5,857 cars were sold, a significant rise from the 3,702 units sold in July 2023.
Breaking down the figures, Honda Civic and City sales jumped to 790 units from 208 units a year ago. Toyota Corolla and Yaris also saw a slight increase, with sales climbing to 1,106 units from 1,067 units in the previous year.
Suzuki Swift experienced an impressive surge of 101.60%, with sales rising to 502 units from 249 units last year. Conversely, Suzuki Cultus sales fell to 96 units from 177 units, and Suzuki WagonR also saw a drop, with sales decreasing to 139 units from 245 units.
On the positive side, Suzuki Alto’s sales nearly doubled, increasing by 99.23% to 2,869 units from 1,440 units. Suzuki Bolan’s sales also saw a rise, reaching 288 units compared to 146 units in the same month last year.
