ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper during his visit to London. The meeting began with Minister Naqvi extending his congratulations to Cooper on her new role and offering his best wishes for her tenure.
The conversation between the two officials covered a range of topics, including legal support for criminal cases, border management, and strategies to combat illegal immigration. They also discussed the potential for training Pakistani police officers in the UK, highlighting the importance of strengthened international cooperation to tackle the issue of illegal immigration.
Naqvi stressed the need for collaborative efforts between developed and developing nations to address the challenges posed by illegal immigration and emphasized that there should be zero tolerance for incitement to violence on social media.
Home Secretary Cooper responded by affirming the UK’s commitment to its relationship with Pakistan and promised to continue working together across various sectors. She also expressed a desire to deepen the cooperation.
During the visit, Naqvi invited Cooper to Pakistan to further strengthen ties. The meeting was also attended by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, and senior officials from the British Home Office.
