ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The President of Pakistan has conferred the prestigious civil award, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, on senior journalist Arshad Aziz Malik from Peshawar in recognition of his exceptional contributions to journalism. This accolade reflects the impact and influence Malik has had in the field, particularly through his unwavering commitment to investigative reporting.
Arshad Aziz Malik is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most distinguished journalists. His journey in journalism began after he completed his Master’s degree in political science and journalism. In 1991, he launched his career with daily Mashriq. His talent and dedication quickly set him apart, leading him to join daily Aaj in 1994. For over two decades, he served this well-respected Peshawar daily, becoming a cornerstone of its editorial team.
In 2014, Malik took his expertise to the national stage by joining daily Jang, one of Pakistan’s leading newspapers. His reputation as a formidable investigative journalist was solidified through his extensive work in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he focused on uncovering corruption, abuse of authority, and irregularities in various development projects. Malik’s investigative reports, exceeding 1,000 in number, have exposed numerous cases of fraud and malfeasance, holding powerful individuals and institutions accountable.
