ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistanis living in Dubai and the northern emirates of the UAE have been encouraged to renew their passports and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) cards online, a move designed to save time and eliminate hassle. This advice was shared by the Consul General of Pakistan for Dubai, Hussain Muhammad,
Among the 1.7 million Pakistanis in the UAE, a significant number reside and work in the northern emirates. Many of them travel from places like Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain to Dubai for passport and identity card renewals. Hussain highlighted the capacity constraints at the consulate, which handles around 900 passport renewals and up to 400 identity card issuances daily.
“The volume of passport renewals at the consulate is significant, with about 900 people coming in to apply for the travel document each day. Additionally, up to 400 individuals visit for identity card services. Despite our limited capacity, we strive to accommodate everyone,” Hussain remarked. “I urge all Pakistani brothers and sisters to utilize the online renewal service for passports and ID cards, which can be done from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for a consulate visit. He further explained that comprehensive guidelines are available for renewing documents online, a process that takes just 5 to 10 minutes.
