ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, has cast doubt on the legitimacy of India’s Independence Day celebrations due to its actions in Kashmir. In a message shared on the occasion of India’s Independence Day, Mushaal Mullick criticized the country for celebrating its own freedom while oppressing Kashmiris for the past 78 years.
She underscored the ongoing denial of freedom to the Kashmiri people and expressed deep sorrow over the suffering of countless mothers who have lost their children in the enduring conflict. Mushaal Mullick called upon the international community to scrutinize the basis on which India celebrates its independence, while continuing to suppress the Kashmiri people’s aspirations.
