ISLAMABAD (PEN) : It has been proposed to partially suspend mobile service in 10 districts of Punjab on the occasion of Imam Hussain (RA) Chehlum.
As per Punjab Home Department spokesperson, the mobile service partial suspension on the location of processions (majalis) has been requested.
The mobile service would be suspended from 5 am to 11pm at locations of majalis in 10 districts of Punjab.
The mobile service would be suspended partially in Rawalpindi, Jhang, Layyah, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali.
Gujranwala, Gujrat, Chakwal, and Toba Tek Singh would also not have full access to mobile service.
Other districts of Punjab including Lahore will have fully mobile service connectivity.
The decision to partially suspend mobile service in specific locations has been proposed in the wake of law and order situation and safety and security of citizens.
Punjab Home Department has sent a letter to the federal government on the request of the police.
