ISLAMABAD (PEN) : On August 19, an extraordinary celestial event will light up the skies of Pakistan, a Super Blue Moon. This rare phenomenon will captivate sky watchers as the moon appears larger and brighter than usual, offering a spectacular sight to those who take a moment to gaze upwards.
The event is particularly special because it combines two distinct lunar occurrences: a Supermoon and a Blue Moon, each fascinating in its own right.
A Supermoon happens when the moon is at its closest approach to Earth in its orbit, known as perigee. This proximity makes the moon look about 14% larger and 30% brighter than when it is at its farthest point, or apogee.
