ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took into custody well-known political commentator Orya Maqbool Jan from his home in Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority, Phase Six.
The arrest was made by the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing, which alleges that Jan was involved in spreading religious hatred. Additionally, a case has been filed under the Cyber Terrorism Act concerning his statements against various institutions.
Orya Maqbool Jan is a prominent figure in political commentary, with a significant following on social media—1.3 million followers on X and 1.05 million on his YouTube channel. His engagement in current affairs and his outspoken views have made him a notable voice in the public sphere.
