ISLAMABAD (PEN) : In the first month of the fiscal year 2024-25, Pakistan’s pharmaceutical exports saw a notable boost, climbing by 29.66% compared to the same period last year. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported that in July 2024, the country exported pharmaceutical products worth $33.971 million, up from $26.201 million in July 2023.
In terms of volume, the increase was equally impressive, with exports rising by 10.59% to 7,908 metric tons in July 2024 from 7,151 metric tons the previous year.
Month-over-month, the growth was strong as well, with exports rising by 16.63% from $29.128 million in June 2024.
Overall, Pakistan’s total merchandise exports grew by 11.77% in July 2024, reaching $2,307 million compared to $2,064 million the year before. Meanwhile, imports also increased by 15.90%, reaching $4,278 million from $3,691 million in the same month last year.
