ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) came to a heartfelt close with a collective prayer, bringing together a deep sense of unity and devotion.
During these days of spiritual reflection, participants prayed earnestly for the peace and prosperity of their country and its people. The event saw the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Minister Bilal Yasin, Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar, and hundreds of thousands of devotees from across Pakistan.
The annual gathering, steeped in over a thousand years of tradition, was marked by rich spiritual and cultural rituals. Devotees from every corner of the country flocked to the shrine of the revered 10th-century saint, engaging in various activities such as preaching sessions, Mahafil-e-Samaa (Qawwali), Naat Khwani, and Qirat (recitation of the Holy Quran).
Notable Ulema, Mashaikhs, and Gaddi Nasheens addressed the spiritual gatherings, offering guidance and reflections. To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event, the district administration implemented extensive security measures, including the deployment of uniformed and plainclothes policemen and secret agency personnel. Devotees passed through walk-through gates and metal detectors as part of the security protocol.
Among the heartfelt prayers offered were those for the oppressed Muslims of Indian-occupied Kashmir and Palestine, reflecting the deep sense of solidarity and concern for global issues that characterized the celebrations.
