ISLAMABAD (PEN) : A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson rejected a misleading report claiming Pakistan is in a deep economic crisis due to debt owed to China, clarifying that debt from CPEC projects forms a small portion of Pakistan’s total debt. The spokesperson emphasized that CPEC is a transformational project contributing positively to Pakistan’s development, enjoying broad support within the country. They also noted that the debt from China has longer maturity periods with low interest rates, countering the inaccurate claims made in the report.
