ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Sheikh Rashid, the leader of the Awami Muslim League and former federal minister, has spoken out against the arrests that took place inside Parliament, calling the move inappropriate.
During a media interaction outside the Islamabad sessions courts, Rashid expressed his belief that political dynamics would become clearer by September 30. His remarks came amidst ongoing legal proceedings.
Earlier, a local court in Islamabad reviewed a plea for acquittal related to a case against Imran Khan and Sheikh Rashid, filed at the Aabpara police station. Rashid, along with Sadaqat Abbasi and their lawyers, Sardar Masroof and Sardar Shahbaz, attended the hearing.
Sardar Masroof argued for the acquittal of the accused, pointing out that co-accused in the case had already been cleared. The case involved an alleged violation of Section 144. Masroof requested the court to acquit both Imran Khan and Sheikh Rashid.
The court has reserved its decision on the acquittal plea, and the outcome will be awaited with bated breath.
