ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Haider Ali returned to Pakistan on Tuesday, bringing home a bronze medal from the Men’s Discus Throw F37 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Despite his remarkable achievement, the reception was far from the hero’s welcome many might have expected. Only a few officials from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and members of the National Paralympic Committee were present to greet him at Islamabad Airport.
The country’s most successful para-athlete landed back in Pakistan on an international flight, having secured his fourth Paralympic medal at the renowned Stade de France in Paris just days earlier. His performance in the Discus Throw F37 event was particularly impressive, with his final throw reaching a distance of 52.54 meters, a testament to his dedication and skill.
