ISLAMABAD (PEN) : On Thursday, Arsenio Antonio Dominguez Velasco, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), arrived in Pakistan for the first time. His visit marks a significant milestone as he is the first IMO Secretary-General to come to the country.
During his stay, Dominguez Velasco will take part in the “International Maritime Sustainability Exhibition and Conference,” where he will engage with Pakistan’s leaders and senior government officials. This visit provides a valuable opportunity for both Pakistan and the IMO to discuss important issues related to the maritime sector and the blue economy.
Pakistan, a founding member of the IMO, is dedicated to promoting safe, secure, and efficient shipping while protecting our oceans. The country has proudly served on the IMO Council for five terms, consistently supporting and advancing the organization’s goals.
