ISLAMABAD (PEN) : Pakistan Railways has made significant progress in restoring a bridge in Balochistan that was damaged in a militant attack last month, completing 40% of the work. According to media reports, train operations are expected to resume by October 15.
The bridge, located in the Bolan area of Kachi district, was heavily affected by one of several attacks on August 26, leading to the suspension of train services that connect this troubled province to the rest of the country.
A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways confirmed the progress, stating, “We have successfully completed 40% of the restoration work on the bridge in Quetta.” They expressed optimism about the timeline, assuring the public that operations would resume as planned by mid-October.
Once the restoration is finished, the rail connection between Balochistan and the rest of Pakistan will be reinstated, pending necessary security clearances. This effort reflects the resilience of the community and the commitment to reconnecting Balochistan with the nation, offering hope for a return to normalcy after the recent turmoil.
