ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The match officials for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 have been revealed, featuring an all-female lineup of match referees and umpires. This significant announcement reflects the growing recognition of women in cricket. The panel will include 10 umpires and 3 match referees, all set to oversee an exciting tournament.
Taking place from October 3 in Dubai and Sharjah, the tournament will showcase 23 matches among 10 teams, celebrating the talent and dedication of female cricketers from around the world.
Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira will serve as match referees, bringing their experience and expertise to the event. Notably, Australia’s Claire Polosak will be officiating in her fifth T20 World Cup, while Kim Cotton and Jacqueline Williams will make their fourth appearances, underscoring their remarkable contributions to the sport.
The ICC Elite Panel of Umpires includes Lauren Agenbag, Kim Cotton, Sarah Dambanevana, Anna Harris, Nimali Perera, Claire Polosak, Vrinda Rathi, Sue Redfern, Eloise Sheridan, and Jacqueline Williams. Each of these officials brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence, setting the stage for an unforgettable tournament that highlights the talent and passion of women’s cricket.
