ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Sindh High Court (SHC) took action to seek the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in response to allegations of war crimes committed in Gaza.
The plea, filed by Advocate Sohail Hameed, claims that Netanyahu and other Israeli officials are accountable for the deaths of over 41,000 Palestinians, including 15,000 children, amid the ongoing siege of Gaza. The advocate urged the court to recognize that the International Criminal Court has already issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his colleagues.
The application requested that various respondents, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary of the Cabinet, and the United Nations, be directed to comply with these arrest warrants, emphasizing the need for accountability for those implicated in war crimes.
In May, the International Criminal Court prosecutor sought an arrest warrant for Netanyahu related to alleged war crimes in Gaza, underscoring the gravity of the situation. This case reflects the urgent call for justice in the face of profound human suffering.
