ISLAMABAD (PEN) : The Lahore High Court (LHC) has turned down PTI’s request to hold a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, directing the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lahore to reach a decision by September 30.
During the hearing, Justice Farooq Haider listened to the petition presented by Akmal Khan Bari on behalf of PTI. The lawyer representing PTI mentioned that they were still awaiting a response from the DC regarding their request to organize the rally.
This rally is particularly significant as it is scheduled to coincide with the birthday of PTI founder Imran Khan on October 5.
The court emphasized to the government lawyer the importance of ensuring that the DC Lahore makes a timely decision on the request and submits a report to the Deputy Registrar Judicial of the High Court about the outcome.
